The International Standards for Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury (ISNCSCI) is an examination used to determine the motor and sensory impairment and severity of a spinal cord injury. It was developed by the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA). It allows clinicians and patients to have a common language to talk about spinal cord injuries. It is also a powerful research tool to measure the effectiveness of treatment techniques and protocols.

Neurology Facility Report

The Neurology Completion Report is now available! Click here to access these reports.

You can see what percentages of the clinical ISNCSCI (or ASIA) exams are complete, partial and missing. The “partial exams” graph shows what information is missing when only some of the ISNCSCI exam information is entered. Missing forms, or those where there is no motor, sensory or anorectal exam entered are further divided into patients who have a clinician’s determined ASIA Impairment Scale (AIS) or Single Neurological Level (SNL) entered. Data is also shown which reports the percentage of mismatch between the RHI ISNCSCI algorithm, which uses the raw exam scores entered into the database and provides validated electronic scoring and classification   (http://www.isncscialgorithm.com/) , and the clinician determined AIS and SNL as entered into the RHSCIR database. This is to give you an idea of your clinical classification accuracy.
